Located in the Greater Hobby area, the BakerRipley Harbach Community Center is named after Franklin Harbach, a longtime BakerRipley employee and a champion of education and social services. This campus features an urban farm, classes for children and adults, and an active senior program.  A free lunch is served every weekday for seniors to enjoy together, thanks to funding from the Harris County Area Agency on Aging.

The BakerRipley Harbach Community Center offers many programs and services.

Food Fairs offered every third Thursday of the month from 8:00am-11:00am

Senior Health & Wellness

BakerRipley’s Senior Health and Wellness Centers are lively, laughter-filled places for community, friendship, and activities that promote physical, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Designed for adults age 60 and older, the program focuses on eight domains of wellness. A free lunch is served every weekday for seniors to enjoy together, thanks to funding from the Harris County Area Agency on Aging.

Adult & Youth Classes

The Harbach Community Center offers a wide variety of classes for children and adults. Subjects have included Folkloric Dance, Taekwondo, Computer Basics, STEM, Family Fit Dance, Sewing, Cookie Decorating and more!

The Fall 2023 semester begins September 5 and continues through December 9. Membership is required and space is limited.

Tax Assistance

BakerRipley’s Neighborhood Tax Centers operate the largest local IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program that helps taxpayers maximize their refunds by offering FREE, quality tax preparation services for individuals and families who make less than $58,000 per year.

Community Center Memberships

BakerRipley Community Centers offer family and individual memberships. Membership provides access to a wide variety of classes and experiences.

Community Health Choice provides a family membership for families of children enrolled in CHIP or Medicaid through Community Health Choice. This membership covers two adults and any children in the same household, and is paid for by Community Health Choice

Facility Rentals

The BakerRipley Harbach campus offers several spaces available for rent, including a large gym/community hall, conference room, classroom, and outdoor space.

Information & Referrals

At the Harbach Community Center you can also receive information about many other BakerRipley programs, including Head Start / Early Head Start, BakerRipley Community Schools, After-School Programs, Youth Summer Camp, Fab Lab Houston, Adult Education, Small Business Support, Learning and Innovation Centers, Neighborhood Tax Centers, Veteran Services, Immigration Services, and referrals to community partners.
